Neighborhood- Encourage, promote, support and assist in any way possible the mission of neighborhood organizations and groups thereby empowering them to improve their neighborhood's quality of life
- Improve district's infrastructure
- Return residents calls within 24 hours
Environment
- Promote litter awareness, air/water quality, and water/energy conservation
- Increase park/open space
- Support the Port of Long Beach's Green Policy
- Support alternate means of transportation
Business - Increase owner awareness regarding availability of City business programs
- Seek and recruit beneficial and new businesses based on resident's needs
- Work to improve the appearance of our business corridors
Safety
- Encourage/promote Neighborhood Watch Blocks
- Work in partnership with our Police Department to keep residents "in-the-know" and educate residents on personal safety
City PrioritiesBudget- Think "outside the box" for ways to remedy the budget
- Plan for the long term instead of short term
- Work on building a reserve to tie the city over during lean years
Economy- Support/encourage local business to bid for City contracts especially Long Beach based
- Bring resources for employment to the residents
Sustainability- Support the City's sustainability goals
- Consider long term effects when making council decisions
- Work for a balance of our environment, economy and decision making
Transparency- Communicate using a myriad of ways (neighborhood newsletters, e-mail, neighborhood meetings, blog, council district website, town hall meetings, etc.) to keep residents informed and up-to-date on issues
- Work to make sure residents are aware of pertinent city issues and encourage public comment
